UNIVERSITY ADMISSION FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2010/2011
Applications are called for Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) and Bachelor of Education in Technology (B.Ed.Tech) degrees from those possessing National Vocational Qualifications or equivalent.
Bachelor of Technology is meant for those who are interested in career advancement in the fields of specializations given below having the following entry qualifications:.
Entry Qualifications for B.Tech Degree Programme
Applicants should possess
1. NVQ Level 5 qualifications in the technology area, or
2. Any other diploma of at least one year full time or equivalent part time, in the relevant technology area, with two (2) years of post diploma industry experience in the relevant field applicable to the academic council of UNIVOTEC.
Bachelor of Technology Degree is offered in the following technology fields
Multimedia & Web Technology
Network Technology
Software Technology
Building Services Technology
Manufacturing Technology
Mechatronics Technology
Bachelor of Education in Technology Degree is meant specially for those who are in the teaching profession in the technology fields indicated below having the following entry qualifications:
Entry Qualifications for B.Ed.Tech Degree Programme
Applicants should possess
1 NVQ Level 5 qualifications in the technology area, or
2 Any other diploma of at least one year full time or equivalent part time, in the relevant technology area, with two (2) years of post diploma industry/teaching experience in the relevant field applicable to the academic council of UNIVOTEC.
NVQ level 6 or higher level diplomas/degrees may be granted credit excemptions
Bachelor of Education in Technology Degree is offered in the following technology fields
Information & Communication Technology
Building Services Technology
Manufacturing Technology
Mechatronics Technology
The general degree of both degree programmes are of three (3) years duration with the option of continuing for a special degree with duration of additional one (1) year. The medium of instructions of the degree programme is English. Please note that the applicants will have to face an aptitude test and an interview to get selected for a limited intake of best qualified individuals on part time (Friday, Saturday & Sunday or Saturday, Sunday and Monday) or full time study (Monday to Friday) programmes. Application form and instructions can be obtained either by sending a self addressed stamped envelope indicating the degree programme applied or can be down loaded from www.univotech.ac.lk. Closing date of applications will be 07th May 2010.
Please send the completed applications to the address given below indicating clearly the degree programme applied for on the top left hand corner of the envelope enclosed with a deposit slip with a deposit code number 3001-BT/BEDTAP-1 for the applications processing fee of Rs. 150/= which may be obtained from any Bank o Ceylon branch to credit University of Vocational Technology Account Number 0070308457, Bank of Ceylon, Ratmalana Branch.
